Nicky has a background of working within the emergency services and saw the long-term effects that stress and injury can have on people.  Having experienced the beneficial effects of acupuncture following a back injury, Nicky discovered a fascination for the theory of Chinese Medicine and decided to change her career and become an acupuncturist herself.

Following a three year, full-time course at the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM), she obtained a BSc (Hons) degree in acupuncture.  Nicky is a full member of the UK's main acupuncture regulatory body, the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), and adheres to their strict codes of conduct.  This membership also ensures full insurance.

Degree-level training of acupuncture ensures a thorough understanding of the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and Five Element methods of acupuncture, together with providing training in western medical sciences.  Nicky is also qualified in the Stems and Branches style of acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese astrology and considers the year, date and time of birth of each individual in order to understand any possible constitutional weaknesses that may be causing imbalance.   This extensive training provides the expertise to treat a range of symptoms and conditions.
